Dog and Cat Licenses

State Law requires the licensing of all dogs and cats over the age of six months in the Township. Licenses must be renewed each year by January 31st. Proof of a rabies vaccination and spaying/neutering (if applicable) is required to license your animal. The Rabies vaccination certificate must be valid through November 1st of the licensing year. If the certificate is not valid through November 1st of the licensing year, the animal must be vaccinated prior to licensing. Licenses may be obtained at the Tax Department in the municipal building.

Current Fees

    • Neutered Dog or Cat $15.00 per animal
    • Non-neutered Dog or Cat $18.00 per animal.
    • LATE FEE
      • $1.00 per month late fee after January 31.

Licensing Information

If your dog or cat has a current license, you will receive a new license application in the mail in January. Check local newspapers for free rabies clinics for both dogs and cats.

The Washington Township Rabies Clinic will be held in November at the Department of Public Works, 54 Rock Road, Long Valley, New Jersey. Please check the Township Web Calendar for details as the clinic date draws near.
