The AVAWT consists of Veterans of Military Service,
during war and peace, with a purpose of keeping the service and history
of Veterans "alive". The American Veterans Association of Washington
Township reguarly speaks to local student classes about their fist
hand experiences in the military from WWII to the present. The group
is engaged in charitable contributions for needy residents and students,
and are dedicated to uphold and support the quality of
life of this wonderful place we call America.

CHILDREN'S
ENRICHMENT PROGRAM FOR THE HANDICAPPED, INC. (CEP) ,
Founded by parents in 1979, The Children's Enrichment Program is
a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide recreational services,
cultural experiences, emotional, and social support to children with
special needs and their families. Our program provides relevant information
to parents, caregivers and professionals throughout Washington Township
and surrounding communities.
Programs are held at various locations throughout the district. Financial
assistance is available through scholarships to families in the Township
who would not otherwise be able to participate.

Troop 36 was the First Boy Scout Troop in Long Valley
and has been active for over 60 years! The troop is chartered by
the Long Valley Presbyterian Church on Bartley Road. The troop meets

Boy Scout Troop 236 has been serving boys of Long Valley since 1986,
providing an extensive outdoor program and community service. The
troop meets on Monday nights at 7:30 PM in the parish hall of Saint

Boy Scout Troop 436 is a longtime Long Valley community service organization.

CUB
SCOUT PACK 236
Cub Scout Pack 236 is a very family-oriented Pack which
emphasizes building confidence and great lifetime memories. The
Pack participates in a great number of activities throughout the
year, including family camping, Pack sponsored trips to interesting
and exciting places, a Spring family picnic, and of course monthly
activities and field trips organized by each of the Cub Scout Dens.
Pack 236 meets at the Saint Marks RC Church Parish Hall on Spring
Lane, one Friday night per month at 7:00 PM. For additional information,

The Fuzzbox Teen Center is open to all Washington Township residents,
grades 7 through 12. Activities include Volleyball, Pool, Basketball,
board games,and video games (Playstation, PS2, and others). The center
is outfitted with televisions, a DVD player and VCR. There is an art
studio, free food and drinks. Bands can practice in the garage (we
have keyboards, guitars, or you can bring your own.) Anyone who is
a teen can attend, and don't be afraid to have your parents come in
and say, "Hi".
We are located in the old Washington Township Police Station on West
Mill Road about 1 mile past the Long Valley Middle School. For more

THE GOLDEN AGE CLUB
The Golden Age Group of Washington Township is open to
any senior 55 or older.
The Golden Age Group meets at the Senior Center in
Rock Spring Park, E Springtown Road, on the 1st and
3rd Tuesdays of each month. Bring your
own lunch. We supply the coffee, dessert and, from time to time,
special treats. Dues are $5.00 per year. Fifty cents per meeting
helps defray Group activities.

The Washington Township Girl Scouts are represented
by a number of local Girl Scout Troops. Over the years, the Township
has been the beneficiary of projects supervised and funded by girls

WASHINGTON
TOWNSHIP LAND TRUST
The Washington Township Land Trust is a private non-profit organization
dedicated to the preservation of open space within the Township. The
Land Trust also owns, and is in the process of restoring, the historic
Obadiah LaTourette Grist and Saw Mill located in the center of Long
Valley on Route 513.
The
Land Trust was organized in 1990 and incorporated in 1991 as a 501
(c) 3, non-profit corporation. It is exclusively for charitable, educational,
and scientific purposes - to protect and preserve the lands, watercourses,
ponds, streams, and structures which contribute to the natural beauty
and rural character of Washington Township. To achieve this, the Land
Trust acquires interests in land through purchase or donation, manages
land uses for the benefit of the public, and makes itself available
to the Township of Washington to assist in the stewardship of public
lands and easements.

The Garden Club of Long Valley was organized in July of 1970, and is a member of The Garden Club of New Jersey and the National Council of State Garden Clubs. Many of the gardens around town are planted and maintained by the Garden Club. The Garden Club meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in members' homes or local establishments.

Heartworks is a group of women who are eager to make a difference in the lives of the residents of Long Valley and surrounding areas. Heartworks is an “acts of kindness” group that meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7PM at a member’s house to discuss opportunities for reaching out to others, as well as for emotional and spiritual nurturing.

LONG VALLEY TRAIL ASSOCIATION
The Long Valley Trail Association (LVTA) is a community group of
riders and horse owners whose primary goal is to establish a network
of bridle trails throughout Washington Township. The LVTA works with
public agencies, governmental groups and private land owners. The
LVTA hosts several events throughout the year. They include:

The Long Valley Woman's Club is a service organization that fosters
the Civic, Cultural, Charitable, and Educational interests and needs
of the community.
The Organization formed in 1987 and has offered women the opportunity
to share common experiences and interests while helping their community.
In 1989 the Long Valley Woman's Club became affiliated with the New
Jersey State Federation of Woman's Clubs (NJSFWC)
The club's fund raising efforts contribute to the support
of a variety of Long Valley's, and the region's non-profit, community
service institutions. These organizations include local Fire Departments,
Rescue Squad, and PBA Local 301, the Seeing Eye Dogs, the NJ Battered
Woman’s Shelter,
the Safe Homes program, Foster Care Program to name a few. For additional

THE MOMS CLUB
The MOMS Club is a support group all Moms who are interested in the community and desire a variety of activities for Moms and their children. The MOMS Club is for all moms providing support from pregnancy through college.
The MOMS Club is the only non-profit international support group just for today's mother! A group that understands and supports your choice of mothering either stay-at-home or for the working mom and is a wonderful way for you to meet other moms and a fun way for your child to meet other children
The MOMS Club provides monthly meetings with speakers, discussions and fun programs, Casual get-togethers in parks and members' homes, outings for mothers and children, family parties throughout the year, playgroups for children of all ages.

OF WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP
The Newcomers & Friends of
Washington Township will introduce you to your neighbors, find
playmates for your children and nourish your creativity and
deepen your knowledge and understanding of your town.
The Newcomers
and Friends of Washington Township is open to all members
of the of Washington Township community, both long term residents
as well as brand new ones. Meetings are held on the second
Tuesday of every month at the Schooley's Mountain Firehouse,

The Washington Township Educational Foundation (WTEF) of Morris
County is a community-led organization dedicated to the advancement
of educational opportunities for children in the Washington Township
School District. Incorporated as a non-profit corporation in the state
of New Jersey in 2003, the WTEF is a non-political educational organization
that provides supplemental funding for programs, curriculum enhancements
and teacher development that bring our school district’s learning
experience to the highest level possible. Contributions are sought
from individuals, foundations, corporate sponsors and fund raising
events such as the Annual “Thirst for Knowledge” wine tasting gala
and the Washington Township Fall Festival.
General Membership meetings are held @ 7:30 pm on the 2nd Monday

The Washington Township Food Pantry is a division of
ICOWTA (Interfaith Community Outreach of the Washington Township
Area). ICOWTA was established in 1996 and its membership is composed
of Deacons and concerned members from 10 area churches and other
club and business organizations. It is funded in part from their
Annual Christmas Wreath Fundraiser during the Holiday Season and
by generous donations.
The ICOWTA oversees the Washington
Township Food Pantry and assists with food collections, food drives,
volunteer staffing, monetary donations and holiday food baskets
for townspeople in need.
The Food Pantry is located at 39 Bartley Road at the Long Valley
Presbyterian Church. All currently dated non-perishable food donations
are accepted for drop-off at the Long Valley Presbyterian
Church between 9:30 AM and 2:00 PM Monday through Friday.
The Food Pantry asks that food donations are not left outside
the building.
The Food Pantry is normally open to clients every
Monday from 10 AM to noon, and in the evening from 6:00 PM to
7:30 PM every first and
third week of the month. The Food Pantry welcomes all food drives, monetary
donations and grocery gift cards. Call the Long Valley Presbyterian
Church at (908) 876-3471 with any questions or interests in volunteering.
The Washington Township Historical Society
aims to bring together people interested in the history of Washington
Township, Morris County and promote a
better appreciation of our American heritage. We support historical
programs, archives, publications, preservation, markers, and historical
collections in our museum.
