Washington Township Recreation Brings Back Beloved “Stand Strong” and “Sit Strong” Classes for Winter Wellness
Life is a balance—and when it feels off, we’re here to help you restore it. After overwhelming community enthusiasm and glowing feedback, Washington Township Recreation is proud to bring back its highly popular Stand Strong and Sit Strong Strength & Balance Exercise Classes for the winter session. These programs have become a favorite among residents seeking to stay active, energized, and connected.
“Stand Strong” empowers participants to build core and limb strength using bodyweight exercises and light dumbbells. Designed especially for older adults or those returning to fitness, the class emphasizes posture, mobility, and balance—encouraging everyone to stand tall and move with confidence. Classes will be held Mondays from January 12 to March 9, 2026, from 12:30 PM to 1:15 PM. A doctor’s note may be required for participation.
“Sit Strong” offers a dynamic workout from the comfort of a chair, perfect for anyone looking to improve strength and flexibility in a low-impact setting. It’s a revitalizing way to feel stronger and more balanced, and it’s back by popular demand. Classes run Wednesdays from January 14 to March 4, 2026, from 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM.
All sessions take place at the Washington Township Community Center, 35 E. Springtown Rd., Long Valley, NJ 07053. Registration is open now, with a non-refundable fee due by January 7, 2026. A $25 late fee applies after that date, and registration closes once classes begin.
