Washington Township Recreation Strengthens Community Wellness with “Stand Strong” and “Sit Strong” Exercise Classes
Life is a balance. When you need to restore the balance, put us to the test. Maintain a healthy balance between mind, body, and soul. Washington Township Recreation continues its commitment to community health and wellness with two popular classes designed to improve strength, stability, and flexibility: Stand Strong and Sit Strong Strength & Balance Exercise Classes.
“Stand Strong” focuses on building core and limb strength through bodyweight movements and light dumbbells. This class is ideal for older adults or individuals easing back into exercise. With an emphasis on posture, balance, and mobility, participants are encouraged to stand tall—no canes, walkers, or sitting. A doctor’s note may be required for participation. Classes are held on Mondays from September 22 to November 3, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 1:15 PM.
“Sit Strong” delivers a powerful workout—all from the comfort of a chair. This seated class is perfect for anyone seeking to enhance strength, flexibility, and balance in a low-impact environment. It’s a convenient and effective way to feel more energized and move with confidence. Classes run on Wednesdays from September 24 to November 5, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM.
Both classes take place at the Washington Township Community Center located at 35 E. Springtown Rd., Long Valley, NJ 07053. A non-refundable registration fee is due by September 18, 2025, and a $25 late fee applies after that date. Registration closes once classes begin.
